We are so excited to share that multi- instrumentalist Tommy Burroughs from Memphis came to town and recorded fiddle and mandolin on several songs for new Small Forest album!
Wow, we three trees are taking a step out of the studio this week and checking out all our tracks to assess what there is left to do. We’ve had such amazing people working with us already – Tony Dale gave our songs some great energy with his wonderful percussion; Hans Christian has graced a few songs with beautiful Cello lines; and we’ve had three guitarists lay down some pretty f*ing awesome lead work – George Sawyn and Seth Raddatz from Door County, WI, and David Walker from Chicago, IL....
On December 7th, 2014, Jeanne and Marybeth spend the evening at the Studio 330 Christmas Party serving drinks, keeping the food and desserts coming, and greeting visitors in exchange for more studio hours! Originally we planned to begin the recording process in January, but Hans had time for us, so we jumped in! We are still making time in the studio as we work around our day jobs and the holidays, but the bones of eight songs have been laid out and the band is debating the final selections...
